RAW, RAW, RAW!!!

I keep hearing how much better it is to shoot in RAW. So I tried it. Yes, it is very easy to just change it to RAW in camera, but for some reason I am having a hard time with the editing programs I use to pull them up and "fix" the pictures. I did finally figure it out - I just have to use two different programs now and I still don't get how I change things like it is "in-camera", but hopefully that will come someday! Oh, on a side note, I signed up for a PhotoShop class last night!!! Yay, I'm so excited! I have been looking for one that worked with my schedule and finally found one that is one night a week for 9 weeks! I think this will be a huge help for me...I am having the hardest time actually figuring out PhotoShop for some reason and I normally catch onto things pretty quick. Ok, back to the RAW...so I wanted to test out the RAW so I took some pictures of Teagun at dinner the other night (he normally isn't this messy!). Yes, I can see the RAW pictures are probably "technically" better, but I'm still not 100% convinced. I think if I knew PhotoShop well I probably could have done the same thing in jpeg format a lot quicker. But I will continue to try because I am told it makes all the difference...

OK - While I was waiting for these pictures to load on my slow dial-up (only a few more days until DSL!!!), I think I figured out how to open them directly into PhotoShop. Maybe I will become a believer afterall...

Good for you for "taking the plunge"! I am still too nervous to try, for some reason!

I think the RAW pics look really good! I am impressed and motivated to try myself! And I am so glad you are taking a PS class...now I can ask you a TON of questions b/c it is confusing to me too! I also usually catch on really quick and this has taken a lot of time and effort out of me! I need your knowledge, so pay attention in class :)
